To better
prepare the department to respond to large,
collaborative interdisciplinary research requests for
proposals, we are organized into six research groups or
"thrusts". Our department also has four technical areas:
Design and Dynamic Systems, Energy-Thermo-Fluids,
Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, and Solid
Mechanics. These areas of specialization provide a solid
foundation for a diverse curriculum and innovative
research. |
|
To stay at
the forefront of technology, these thrusts are designed
to encourage intra-department technical areas,
inter-department, inter-college/school, and
inter-university collaboration. With limitless
possibilities for interdisciplinary investigation and
collaboration, the research groups engage more faculty
members in research activities and foster synergy across
the department and the university.
